3 Tips For Improving Your Swing

While playing baseball, it is no secret that hitting the baseball is one of the hardest parts of the game. Many people spend an insane amount of time practicing their swing in baseball batting cages. If you are just starting out, or are an experienced player, there are a couple things that you can do to improve your swing. Here are 3 suggestions. 1. Embrace Your Natural Swing Every player is going to have a different style of swing. There are some mechanics that you can learn, and that is important. In fact, some of these mechanics will be mentioned shortly. However, first and foremost, you need to learn how to embrace your natural ability with hitting. While you are starting out, have a professional watch you swing. Not just once or twice, but a dozen times or so, so that they can see what they have to work with. A good coach will wait to give you pointers until they can tell what you can and can’t do. You should take the time to make sure that you swinging with your dominant side, that you know which eye is your dominant eye, and in what position you feel most comfortable. Then, you can move on from there. 2. Keep Your Back Foot On Its Toe Pro Baseball Insider provides some great tips for helping athletes improve their batting game. One of the best tips that they give to is keep your back foot up on the toes. This will help you to use the force of your body in the swing. If you are unable to use the momentum of your body to get the power in the ball, you are wasting a great deal of energy that could go into a great swing. There are few exceptions to this rule, so as a general guideline keep that foot on the toe. Ideally, a professional coach can help you tell if you are the exception that should keep your foot flat. 3. Keep The Leg, Hip and Head In A Straight Line Another great tip is to keep your back leg, hip and head in a straight line. This will help you to keep the weight properly shifted while you bat.
